Arnon Giladi: "Working to Realize the Bnei-Yehuda Stadium Dream"

New stadium for the Goldens?
(Photo: Ido Perelmutter)

As may be remembered to fans of Bnei-Yehuda Tel-Aviv, during the last election season for Tel-Aviv's municipality, the "Arayot Yehuda" fan club acted in a variety of areas, in order to put the subject of a home stadium for Bnei-Yehuda Tel-Aviv's on the new municipality's agenda.

Still within that period a connection was made between members of Arayot Yehuda's comittee and Tel-Aviv's municipality council member and head of the Likud faction, Mr. Arnon Giladi, and a discussion on the subject was started.

Yesterday the council has decided to move the subject to the planning stage. The official website contacted Mr. Giladi today and asked him a few questions on the matter.

Q: How did the process start?
A: "In the election season we have contacted Kfir and Yechi of 'Arayot Yehuda', while putting the subject of a fitting stadium for Bnei-Yehuda in Begin Park in the south of the city in front of our eyes."

"After the elections we have started taking care of the matter intensively and had a meeting with the municipality's CEO and fan club representatives, in which the first milestones were put, in order to promote the subject of a home stadium for Bnei-Yehuda and also additional pitches for the usage of teams like Kfar-Shalem and Ramat Israel."

Q: What was decided by the city council yesterday?
A: "Yesterday, after advencing the subject in the clerical level, the subject was raised in the council, from a desire to start the wheels of planning towards the building of a city stadium, and the council decided to pass the subject for additional talks and treatment, with the purpose of building a home stadium for Bnei-Yehuda."

"This is, generally, the direction. Both the fan club and Moshe Damayo are acting and pushing this subject with us, such that Bnei-Yehuda will have a home advantage in a stadium near Shchunat Hatikva."

Q: So we are talking about a city stadium that will be used by other teams from southern Tel-Aviv?
A: "We are talking about a city stadium, that will be Bnei-Yehuda's home stadium, and near which a complex of practice grounds will also be build, which will be used by lower grade teams."

Q: How will the building be budgeted?
A: "The budget will be received from the Sports Authority, the Tel-Aviv Municipality and other sources."

Q: So right now we are talking about the starting shot, there is still no detailed planning?
A: "There is no planning, right now we are putting the first milestones towards the building of the stadium. It will definitely not happen in a day, but everything needs to start somehow, which is why it was important to put the subject on the public agenda and promote it forward."

"In conclusion, the 'Arayot Yehuda' fan club is acting together with me and with Shlomo Maslawi (City council member and chairman of Shchunat Hativa - IP) in order to realize this dream."

Update: during the happening event this Thursday at Beit-Dani, in addition to the sale of tickets for the match against Eindhoven, season subscriptions will also be sold. Subscription price for members of "Arayot Yehuda" fan club is 550 NIS. Sale is cash only.
